Dreamlinux builds on the now stable Debian 'Lenny' base, with a host of custom scripts and applications to make everything from installation to getting on the Internet a breeze. Dreamlinux's famous remaster tools are included, as is an OEM installer and the ability to install directly from an ISO and/or Flexiboost directory structure. New in Dreamlinux 3.5 RC4 (Oct 23, 2008)

  • After a lot of hard work and testing we are proud to announce the release candidate 4 which moves us one step closer to the end-of-the-year final release of Dreamlinux 3.5. There has been one major change and a few smaller changes, and a whole heap of updates. Dreamlinux is known for being slick and very fast, and unfortunately, GNOME appears to become slower and bulkier every release so it has been omitted. Main components: Xfce 4.4.2, wicd network manager, Linux kernel 2.6.27, X.Org 7.2, Compiz Fusion, OpenOffice.org 2.4, GIMP 2.6, Iceweasel 3.0.2, Flash Player 10. A few extra ideas are still being thrown around for the final release, so keep an eye out for more updates.
