    What's new in Calculate Linux Desktop 13.4:

    April 22nd, 2013

    · UEFI support added on 64bit systems.
    · Hibernation is TuxOnIce by default.
    · BFQ I/O scheduler supported.
    · Optional support for complete kernel removal when removing the calculate-sources package.
    · Calculate Utilities can now backup configuration files (Gentoo compatible); we've also added a module that handles modifications, like dispatch-conf always did. It comes both in a console and a GUI version.
    · The installer provides more advanced autopartitioning options.
    · The new naming convention for network interfaces has been applied.
    · Network Linux clients should now boot faster when the network is down.
    · Added synchronization profiles of domain users on reboot or power off.
    · The IRC client in CLDG and CLDX will be HexChat instead of XChat.
    · CLD now uses GParted as the GUI partition manager.
    · GNOME3 is no longer supported, as CLDG now features GNOME 2. We'll not be supporting Gnome in next versions.



    What's new in Calculate Linux Desktop 13:

    December 28th, 2012

    System:

    · Meta-packages are no longer used to manage default dependencies.
    · Portage files will be unpacked when booting for the first time.
    · Better identification of NTFS partitions.
    · Fixed the user profile configuration for VMware.
    · Composite enabled by default for VMware.
    · Should you want to replace main applications, their launch icons will be created correctly.
    · In case the user modified the local Portage/overlay repositories, those can now be restored.

    Calculate Utilities:

    · Calculate Utilities were updated to 3.1.
    · Full French translation now available.
    New features added for Calculate Console:
    · joining host to a Calculate Directory Server domain;
    · configuring user sessions;
    · changing user passwords;
    · viewing and editing variables' values for Calculate Utilities;
    · world update.
    New configuration events added:

    Calculate Linux Desktop KDE:

    · AxeMenu replaced the standard menu;
    · the Parcellite clipboard will be used from now on.
    Calculate Linux Desktop XFCE:
    · a modified Adwaita theme is now used as the default one;
    · Elementary comes as the default icon theme;
    · the Geany IDE was added;
    · the Shotwell photo manager was added;
    · Catfish was integrated to the file manager for more efficient search;
    · we switched to SMplayer as the default video player;
    · Claws-Mail now comes with the Address Keeper plugin for address auto-completion.
    · All dictionary packages were removed, for a slimmer distribution.

    · For better support the devices and booting speed up Udev has been integrated into initramfs livecd.
    · Grub2 is the boot loader by default.
    · Added detection of installed operating systems.

    Graphics:
    · Added screen splash auto-resolution.
    · Added video driver choice menu. Additionally the nouveau and the proprietary ati driver are supported.
    · Free video driver with support for KMS are used by default.
    · Nvidia is no longer a pre-driver and is installed on demain at first boot.

    · The setting of sound card has been added.
    · The identification of PCs and notebooks with using of 2 video cards has been added.
    · Unmasking of the unstable programm versions was made with taking account of the last available version at the building system time.
    · The option for boot of the LiveDVD image into the cash has been added. This routine is possible only for PC with more than 2 Gb of cash.
    · File README.html with description of installation has been added on the livecd desktop.
    · All packages are collected from the ebuild files Calculate Overlay. Thus Calculate Linux Desktop KDE is compatible with Gentoo on 100%.



    What's new in Calculate Linux Desktop 9.6:

    May 29th, 2009

    · To boot from the DVD using isolinux.
    · Added a choice of keyboard layout when booting from the DVD.
    · Graphical network configuration tool Wicd has added. Wicd Manager responds for setup of network interfaces now.
    · The setting of videocard during download from DVD has made through video drivers Xorg.
    · The installation image will not distribute like a selected file. The system can be updated to version 9.5 of the ISO file without recording to DVD.
    · The storage way of user accounts on the server was changed. It hasn't to use with older versions of the system.
    · The computer, which was entered in to domain, switches on normal mode during the boot if communication with server will be broke.
    · Improved the support for booting from USB DVD.
