What's new in Caffeine 2.8.2
Jan 18, 2015
- This release fixes some minor bugs in 2.8, and a major bug inadvertently introduced in the short-lived 2.8.1 (caffeine-indicator was broken).
New in Caffeine 2.8 (Jan 16, 2015)
- This release restores widely-missed functionality removed in Caffeine 2.7: namely the ability to inhibit desktop idleness manually, (via the new caffeine-indicator) and the ability to inhibit desktop idleness for the duration of a particular command (via the new command 'caffeinate'). It should also work in most desktop environments again (Caffeine 2.7 worked in only a few).
New in Caffeine 2.7.2 (Jan 13, 2015)
- Fix a crash when there is no active window (LP# 1322291).
- Fix Caffeine not terminating when the session ends (LP #1324304).
New in Caffeine 2.7 (Jan 13, 2015)
- This release removes the user interface and manual operation, and reduces resource consumption by not using external programs. Caffeine is now fully automatic: when the active window is full screen, Caffeine inhibits desktop idleness (and thereby disables the screen saver and/or screen sleep).
New in Caffeine 2.5 (Dec 11, 2013)
- Many bugs are fixed, and the application is now much simpler.
- Unfortunately, Flash video support is gone, as it was too complicated to keep it working. It had been broken for some years.
New in Caffeine 2.4.1 (Nov 14, 2011)
- Migrated from pygtk to pygobject.
- Fixed memory leak.
New in Caffeine 2.2 (Dec 2, 2010)
- Added option to run Caffeine without a tray icon.
- Fixed several bugs.
New in Caffeine 1.0.1 (Nov 2, 2009)
- Fixed bugs #460124, #457490, #458847, #464201, #463273.
New in Caffeine 0.3 (Aug 27, 2009)
- Complete object-oriented rewrite.
- Support for xscreensaver
- Support for DPMS
- Full support for internationalization
- Command-line interface
- Simplification of packaging
