Cdlist is a simple Perl program that queries the freedb.org database for information on a specific audio CD.
It can produce output in several formats like PostScript and HTML (based on configurable patterns), which makes it a great tool for making CD covers, catalogues, etc.
Some time ago I've been making copies of a large collection of audio CD's (no, I'm not a pirate, just enjoying my right to make one copy of a CD "for archival purposes".
I wanted to create a cover for each of the copies, and I figured out that the job could be done simply by retrieving the CD information from freedb and formatting it nicely for printing. That's how cdlist was born.
