bmk is a program which stores and recalls filenames using shorter aliases.
bmk is a program which stores and recalls filenames using shorter aliases. The package includes a few bash scripts that make it do nifty things.

Usage: ./bmk [OPTIONS]

Store and recall filenames using short aliases

Options:
-a, --add=ALIAS:PATH associate ALIAS with PATH
-c, --cwd=ALIAS associate ALIAS with the current directory
-d, --delete=ALIAS forget the specified bookmark
-f, --file=FILENAME specify a non-default bookmark file
-l, --list show all bookmarks
-q, --quiet don't write to stderr when recall fails
-r, --recall=ALIAS recall the path associated with ALIAS
-s, --separator=CHAR use CHAR to separate ALIAS and PATH
-h, --help show this usage message
-v, --version show program version

If the string "@HOME@" appears in the --add option's PATH, it will be
replaced with "/home/marius" when the bookmark is recalled.

Example:

$ pwd
/home/trm
$ bmk --add foo:/usr/local/bin
$ cdb foo
$ pwd
/usr/local/bin
