TemplateFx For Linux

TemplateFx is a platform-independent and totally free graphical application implemented in Java and designed from the ground up to generate output based on some source data and a template.

The software's main use is in generating configurations for command-line based devices, such as Cisco switches and routers. It's GUI is comprised of multiple "Output" tabs, the "DataTemplate" tab, the "DataTemplate" tab, and the "Output" tabs.

Key features include built-in JavaScript functions, support for comments, support for including external files, support for snippets, built-in JavaScript variables, scripting support, merging and grouping support, as well as support for looping and branching construct like FOR and IF.

The software offers support for looping and branching constructs, support for templates and DataTemplates, support for keyboard shortcuts, and an intuitive and well-designed graphical user interface, implemented in Java Swing, that comprises of three panes: Data Pane, Template Pane and Output Pane.

When using TemplateFx, please keep in mind that it is not an open source software, meaning that you won’t be able to access its source code. Only a pre-built binary package in the JAR file format is available for download, as a zip archive.

To use it, simply download the latest version of TemplateFx from Softpedia or via its official website (see link below), save the archive on your computer, unpack it, open the extracted folder and double-click on the TemplateFx.jar file.

TemplateFx is a platform-independent and portable software, written entirely in the Java programming language. It officially supports GNU/Linux, Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows, but can also be used on any other operating system where Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 1.7 or later is available. The software was successfully tested on 32-bit and 64-bit hardware platforms.
