PlayOnLinux is a script written in bash, that uses Wine and allows you to install Windows applications and games on Linux. Wine's aim is to install and run under a Linux distribution software that is designed for Microsoft Windows.
What is PlayOnLinux's aim?
After using Wine we realised that it sometimes needs complex commands. PlayOnLinux helps you to soften the processn making your life even easier in the Linux world.
More, some people who care about the games they own won't come to Linux simply because they want to be able to play them again. Our script will help them to move on Linux.
Can I install all the games that would run under Windows ?
It depends. If your game is on the list you can find there: http://www.playonlinux.com/scripts/show_repository.php, you can trust the compatibility with a Linux OS.
If it's not on the list, you have to check if it runs ok with Wine (check that here: http://appdb.winehq.org/). If it does run with Wine, you can use "Liveinstall" option that is available in the script.
If it doesn't, you may have to wait for the game to be correctly managed.
