  • Improved the CD+G tester.
  • There is support for the video and image backgrounds; any lyrics can use multiple backgrounds.

Karaoke Lyrics Editor is a program which lets you edit and synchronize lyrics with karaoke songs in varions formats. Unlike just regular lyrics available everywhere, lyrics suitable for karaoke players need to have timing marks which tell the player when to show a specific line, and when and how highlight the words. For UltraStar format pitch also needs to be specified, so the player would know how a specific note should be sung. Unlike most lyrics editors for Linux, it is self-sufficient, and does not depend on KDE or external players. Karaoke Lyrics Editor is written for Linux, and uses Qt toolkit.

Karaoke Lyrics Editor is a free software released under GNU General Public License version 3.

Build from the source code

After unpacking it, please run "qmake" followed by "make" and "make install" commands.

This application depends on Qt development package and other development packages, including gcc and make. Please ensure those packages are installed. If you cannot find "qmake", you do not have Qt development package installed. Check your distribution, it may have names like "qt-devel", "qt4-devel", "qt4.5-devel", "qt-dev" and so on. If you're getting errors about missing Phonon headers, this would mean either your Qt version is less than 4.5, or that it was built without Phonon support. There should be no errors or warnings during build.

Once the application is installed, run it by invoking "karlyriceditor" from command line, or by using appropriate menu entry.
