    FUSBi description

    Free USB Installer

FUSBi is a software that downloads free GNU/Linux distributions for you and creates bootable USB images.

FUSBi supports automated installation of of all the FSF-endorsed Free Software GNU/Linux distributions, such as gNewSense, UTUTO, Dynebolic, Musix GNU+Linux, BLAG and GNUstep. You can also use it with your local image files.

FUSBi is a free software itself and is licensed under GNU General Public License version 3 or later.

FUSBi is modified from UNetbootin. In addition to the FUSBi source archive, you need Qt4 development libraries for GNU/Linux and Microsoft Windows to build.

    How-to

Download the FUSBi binary file for GNU/Linux and make sure it has permission to be executed. Before executing it by double clicking, also make sure you have p7zip-full installed by apt-get install p7zip-full. On Fedora-based systems, you will need the p7zip-plugins package instead.

If you want FUSBi to automatically download the distribution image, choose the distribution name and version. If you already have the disc image on your hard disk, select the Diskimage option and browse to the image file. Choose the usb drive you want to install to (It should be at least 1 GB.) and press OK. You can also install the image to your harddisk, if you have your disk partitioned properly.
