Easystroke is an open source graphical software written in the C++ language and designed to act as a gesture-recognition application for X11. It supports Linux and BSD systems.

Easystroke is engineered in such a way that it can execute certain actions (added by the user) every time it recognizes a stroke. At the moment, the software is capable of emulating key presses and the scroll wheel, as well as to execute shell commands and hold down modifiers.

Because it has be originally designed with Tablet PC in mind, the Easystroke software can be used effectively even if you don’t have access to a keyboard.

What's new in Easystroke 0.6.0:

  • This release contains few user-visible changes beside a few bugfixes. Easystroke has been ported to gtk3 and event handling code has been refactored in anticipation of touch support. Unfortunately, touch grab support in the X server is still too fragile for easystroke to be able to take advantage of it (you can preview touch support on the 'touch' branch).
