    BatRen description

BatRen is an automatic file rename tool.

BatRen is an automatic file rename tool. The main goal is to provide a simple way to batch renaming collections of files, such as photo collections. BatRen accepts prefixing/suffixing, start index value and counter padding formats.

If the output file already exists, the counter is increased until an unused filename is found.

    Installation:

To perform an installation with default options, a 'make install' is enough. If you like, parameters name can be specified in the command line, like 'make install prefix=/usr/bin'.

    Limitations:

    · when searching for an available filename, the first one found is ignored

    What's New in This Release:

    · The PADDING adjustment has been improved.
    · Support has been added for forcing the file extension to be lowercase or uppercase.
