qNotesManager is a simple, free, open source and multiplatform graphical application implemented in C++/Qt and designed from the offset to act as a note-taking utility that lets you store and manage notes on your GNU/Linux operating system.
It allows users to format the text in notes using a modern WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor, to add tags to their notes, to organize their notes in categories, as well as to insert tables, images and lists.
The application also provides a quick note function that enables users to create a new note just by using the text clipboard, allows you to encrypt notes, and to filter them by modification or creation time.
To install and use the qNotesManager software on your GNU/Linux machine, you must first download the source package from the project’s official website (see the homepage link at the end of the article) or via Softpedia using the dedicated download section above.
Save the archive on a location of your choice (e.g. Home directory or Desktop), extract its contents using an archive manager utility, open a terminal emulator app and navigate to the location of the extracted archive files using the ‘cd’ command (e.g. cd /home/softpedia/qNotesManager-0.9.6).
Then, run either of the ‘qmake’ or ‘qmake-qt4’ commands to configure the program, then run the ‘make’ command to compile it, and finally, run the ‘sudo make install’ command to install it system wide. Open the application from the main menu of your desktop environment.
qNotesManager is a cross-platform application and it is officially supported on the GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. It can be installed on personal computers or laptops supporting either of the 64-bit or 32-bit CPU architectures.
