bdf2psf is a font converter that lets you use any of the Adobe BDF fonts that are bundled with X Windows on the Linux console.
bdf2psf is a font converter that lets you use any of the Adobe BDF fonts that are bundled with X Windows on the Linux console as well. For instance, it can take the file courR14.bdf, which is available via the Web in various ftp archives, and convert it to console format.

The bdf2psf program is useful because the "kbd" program that permits you to change the console font only comes with mostly unappealing fonts, only a few large fonts, and none of them is Courier or Lucida Typewriter.

Usage: bdftopsf infile outfile
