Jubler is a subtitle editor which can work with *.SUB and *.SRT files. Jubler lets you join, split, and recode into different framerates, delete and remove depending on specific patterns, and edit specific subtitles in place.
Through a graphical interface, it is possible to launch mplayer to test the produced subtitles.
Here are some key features of "Jubler":
· It supports *.SUB and *.SRT file formats, although it is easy to extend it to support other file types.
· You can view the results with mplayer and controll the video flow with a special console. It's again easy to extend it to support more players.
· All encodings supported by Java platform are also supported here (like UTF-8). The user is able to select a list of preffered encodings in order to load the localized subtitle files.
· Splitting, joining, sorting and recoding of subtitles is supported.
· Deleting specific subtitles or subtitle patterns is possible.
· Undo/redo is possible
· The program could also be used under windows, as long as mplayer is in your PATH
· Last but not least: it's open source under GNU GPL!
