4DIAC is an open source framework specially deigned for distributed industrial control and automation. It provides a free IEC 61499-compliant bases that permits creation of distributed industrial automation and control environments.
The 4DIAC project is comprised of the following tools: IEC 61499 compliant Engineering Tool (4DIAC-IDE), IEC 61499 run-time environment (FORTE), IEC 61499 Function Block Library (4DIAC-LIB) and IEC 61499 Example Projects (4DIAC-Systems).
4DIAC is a cross-platform software written in Java. It supports Linux, Mac OS X and Windows operating systems.
