MILLE-XTERM is a linux terminal project.

Main goals are:

· Provide easy to deploy and easy to manage XTERM clusters
· Provide an enteprise level XTERM solution for large (>1000s) XTERM deployement
· Provide centralized management of XTERMs

Several school districts in Quebec are using MILLE-XTERM on small-scale to medium-scale deployement (200 and more XTERMS).

Globally, more than 800 XTERM are powered by the MILLE-XTERM open-source project. The technology is currently tested in small testbeds and it is expected that more than 2000 XTERM will be using MILLE-XTERM by 2006.
This projet was made possible by the finantial contribution from the SchoolNet program from the Gouvernment of Canada.

· Support for usb key storage devices on terminal
· Better multimedia support
· NBD swap for low memory terminals
· New way to define users's loggin scripts
· Updated hardware list
· Support for local applications
· Kernel 2.6.12 with udev
· Improvments to the configurator to define custom properties
· Rewritten loadbalancer
· New initrd and xtermroot scripts
· Installation is now entirely done by RPMS packages
· Possibility to limit the bandwith consumption of terminals
· Classroom management with TeacherTool
· More documentation about the installation and management process
