Wipe Free Space is an open source command-line and graphical software that can be used to securely wipe the free space on an hard disk drive (HDD) on the GNU/Linux operating system.

The software has been engineered to support the following filesystems: EXT2, EXT3, EXT4, XFS, ReiserFS3, ReiserFS4, NTFS, FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, MinixFS1, MinixFS2, HFS, HFS+, OCFS, and JFS.

Wipe Free Space is designed in such a way that it securely erases the free space on file systems, in order to prevent recovery of deleted sensitive data. It is the perfect tool for today’s paranoid computer geek.
