You won't believe this, but sposkpat is an open source and completely free Linux operating system derived from the award-winning Debian GNU/Linux distribution and built around the Kpatience card game, allowing users to play a great Patience (Solitaire) game without any distractions.
It is distributed as a minimal, dual-arch Live CD image
This minimalistic Debian-based distribution of Linux is available for download as a single, dual-arch Live CD ISO image of approximately 300MB in size, suitable for CD discs or USB thumb drives of 512MB or higher capacity.
The Live CD will boot automatically
When booting the ISO image from the BIOS of a computer, using either a CD disc or a USB flash drive, you will encounter a minimal boot prompt that will automatically start the live system in approximately one second. It includes two “Live” options, but they’re not selectable.
A Debian distribution built around a single application
sposkpat has no logins, no passwords and no Internet connection. It provides users with a virus-free computer operating system where the hard disk drive (HDD) is automatically put in sleep mode, as the distribution runs entirely from RAM (system memory), saving power and keeping the noise at a minimum level.
It is a portable OS that load itself very fast, starting the Kpatience card game and allowing you to play it in a shortest time as possible. To close the computer, simply press the physical power button.
The game features a menu bar from where you can start a new game, restart an existing game, choose between different play modes, as well as to configure various settings. More details about Kpatience can be found on its official homepage.
In conclusion, sposkpat is a very special and ultra light operating system that requires a computer with only 512MB of RAM to run. It won’t install anything on your HDD or SSD drives, we promise!
