gNewSense 3.1

This project provides a fully free software Linux distribution based on GNU/Linux
gNewSense is a GNU/Linux project, to take all the binary blobs out of a rather popular distribution and make it all free.

In doing so we have also produced a set of scripts to create a free Linux operating system based on Debian GNU/Linux.

Main features:

  • Firmware removed from kernel in main
  • Restricted removed
  • Ubuntu logos replaced
  • Universe enabled by default
  • emacs, bsdgames, nethack and build-essential part of the default install
