Xubuntu Polish Remix
Xubuntu Polish Remix is the 64-bit flavor of the Xubuntu Mysi Remix operating system, both derived from the Xfce edition of Ubuntu Linux and designed with the Polish user in mind.
This Xubuntu remix is bootable only 64-bit computers
When downloading this Xubuntu remix, users should keep in mind the fact that it is distributed as a single Live DVD ISO image that supports only 64-bit (x86_64/amd64) computers. It’s not bootable on old 32-bit (i386/i486/i686) machines.
You can try the operating system without installing it
While the boot prompt of the Live DVD is identical with the one of the Xubuntu operating system, it is fully translated into the Polish language. From there, you can try the OS without installing it, start the installer directly to permanently install the distro on a local drive, perform a system memory check, boot an existing OS from the first disk drive, as well as to verify the integrity of the bootable medium (only if using a DVD media).
Xfce looks attractive, modern and traditional at the same time
As mentioned, this is a Xubuntu-based distribution, which means that it uses the Xfce graphical desktop environment. While the interface looks very attractive and easy-to-use, it is low on resources.
It features a standard panel on the upper part of the screen and a dock (application launcher) on the bottom edge of the screen. Be aware that the dock is hidden by default and can only be revealed when the mouse cursor reached the bottom edge of the screen.
Contains a large selection of applications
Being distributed as a Live DVD or approximately 1.5GB in size, the distro contains a large selection of applications, among which we can mention Kadu instant messenger, qBittorrent torrent downloader, Geany IDE, Converseen image manipulation software, Inkscape vector graphics editor and gThumb image viewer.
A much better Xubuntu remix for Polish-speaking users
When compared with Xubuntu Mysi Remix, Xubuntu Polish Remix proves to be a much better Xubuntu remix for Polish-speaking users. However, it will only boot on modern computers that support the 64-bit instruction set architecture.
