Xubuntu Mysi Remix For Linux

Xubuntu Mysi Remix, also known as Xubuntu-PL, is an open-source, full featured, secure and free operating system derived from the Xfce edition of the world’s most popular distribution of Linux, Xubuntu. It has been designed by and for the Polish Linux community.

This Xubuntu remix is available for download as a single Live DVD ISO image that has been tagged for the i386 architecture, which means that while will run on both 32-bit (i386) and 64-bit (x86_64) hardware platforms, it supports only 32-bit applications.

Being based on Xubuntu, the Xubuntu Mysi Remix distribution borrows its bootloader for the Live DVD, which has been fully translated in Polish. From there users will be able to try the operating system without installing it, perform a system memory test, boot an existing OS from the first disk drive or test the integrity of the bootable medium (only if using a CD disk).

As mentioned, the graphical desktop environment is powered by Xfce, which is a lightweight and traditional interface suitable for Linux distributions that try to keep a balance between features, ease of use and speed.

It uses its modern layout, comprised of a panel located on the upper side of the screen, as well as dock (application launcher) on the bottom edge of the screen, which is hidden by default and can be revealed only on mouseover.

All the applications that come with the Xubuntu operating system are also installed in this Polish remix. For example, it include the Mozilla Firefox web browser, Mozilla Thunderbird email and news client, Transmission torrent downloader,  XChat IRC client, Pidgin multi-protocol instant messenger, Audacious audio player, VLC Media Player and Ubuntu Software Center.

All things considered, Xubuntu Mysi Remix is a true lightweight distribution of Linux based on Xubuntu, Xfce and the Linux kernel, and designed for Polish-speaking users.
