Void Linux is an open source and 100% free Linux distribution that has been created from scratch. It uses the rolling release system, which offers continuous package updates.
Just Arch Linux and other similar operating system, Void Linux installs only a base system that provides just the required utilities for text console usage. From here, users need to adapt the system to their needs.
In order to provide an always-bootable system, the kernel images and modules are never removed from the system. Void Linux uses dracut to handle the initial ramdisk images.
Among other features, Void Linux offers over 3,000 optimized packages, supports cross build packages, realtime package building, the ability to build binary packages from your favourite Linux distribution, and support for UEFI 64-bit systems.
Void Linux is distributed as a installable Live CD ISO images, supporting both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures. Raspberry Pi images are also available for download.
