The operating system is available for download as Live DVD ISO images that contain software packages optimized for the 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (amd64) instruction set architectures. From its official homepage, you can download dedicated USB images, as well as ISO images for Intel 64-bit/32-bit computers.
It’s built only from open-source software
The UTUTO XS Vivo distribution is built only from open-source software and has been designed from the ground up to be used for the research and development of social computing application technology.
It promotes and encourages the dissemination and generation of knowledge in developing countries, reducing the digital divide between countries that until now were limited to import and deplete foreign developments and countries that lead the technological development in the world.
Includes its own package manager, Uget
The Ututo project consists of several sub projects, including the GNU/Linux operating system, which includes the Uget package manager that easily integrates into the base system packages.
The desktop environment is unique, beautiful
The distribution uses KDE Plasma as its default graphical desktop environment, providing users with a unique and beautiful interface that comprises of two docks (applications launchers), a transparent one on the upper side of the screen and a curved one on the bottom edge of the screen.
Applications, lots of applications
Among the pre-installed applications, we can mention the LibreOffice and Calligra office suites, GIMP image editor, K3b CD/DVD burning software, XChat IRC client, Liferea news reader, Dolphin file manager, Mozilla Firefox web browser, Remotedesktop Client rdesktop interface and SMPlayer video player.
