Ultimate Boot CD For Linux

Ultimate Boot CD is an open source project that provides users with a universal Live CD ISO image comprised of a large collection of utilities for general computer maintenance and diagnostics. It contains tools for editing BIOS settings, test memory and CPU, recover data, manage or recover MBR, inventory of system and peripherals, hard drive partitioning, cloning, diagnostics, wiping, as well as low-level editing.

All the tools incorporated in this project will run directly from the bootable medium, allowing users to use floppy-based diagnostic tools that are compatible with most Intel machines and CD-ROM drives. No operating system is required to run the Ultimate Boot CD project. The Live CD includes many diagnostic tools, and it's designed to allow users to share Internet access or browse the web. The ISO image can be used on both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures, and deployed on either a blank CD or USB flash drive.

The BIOS section can be used to decrypt the passwords of many popular BIOSes, save and restore BIOS settings, edit CMOS settings, reset CMOS passwords, clear CMOS settings, and perform brutal attacks. Many other handy utilities will help you to optimize, test or overclock CPUs, manage boot partitions, recover data, clone disks, wipe drives, create and edit partitions, test system memory for errors, scan system for viruses, and much more.

Another interesting feature is the inclusion of the well-known Parted Magic Linux distribution, which allows users manipulate disk partitions and includes powerful applications like GParted, Clonezilla, Partition Image, Truecrypt, TestDisk, Mozilla Firefox, PhotoRec, as well as the F-Prot virus scanner.

FreeDOS is also included in Ultimate Boot CD, which can be used to run many DOS apps. It is definitely a useful tool for any system administrator or regular users who just want to make sure that their computer(s) will be fixed in no time.
