Ubuntu Cloud Live For Linux

Ubuntu Cloud Live is an open source operating system designed by Canonical to demostrate the capabilities of the Ubuntu Cloud Server (previously known as Ubuntu Enterprise Cloud) operating system.

The product is available for download from our website as a single Live CD ISO image of approximately 600MB in size, which means that users must burn it onto a blank CD or write it on a USB flash drive in order to boot it from the BIOS of a PC. Keep in mind though, that it only works with 64-bit architectures.

The Live CD features a minimal boot loader that will allow the user to start the Ubuntu Cloud live environment, boot an existing operating system from the first disk drive, as well as to check the integrity of the disc (only if using a CD media).

Believe it or not, the Live CD will boot into a minimal graphical desktop environment powered by the modern Unity interface developed by Canonical, offering a top panel and a dock (application launcher) on the left side of the screen.

The system cannot be installed on a local drive, but it offers a Getting Started text file on the desktop, so you can learn how to use the OpenStack Compute (Nova) software that is built into this special version of the Ubuntu Linux operating system.

Default applications include the Chromium web browser, Rhythmbox music player, Brasero CD/DVD burning software, GNOME Terminal terminal emulator, Gedit text editor, Evince document viewer, and Nautilus file manager.

Summing up, this product is one of a kind, a unique masterpiece, as Canonical did not make any new versions of it. It's sole purpose was to demonstrate the power of the Ubuntu Cloud Server system, and it is no longer maintained.
