TurnKey e107 Live CD is an open source distribution of Linux based on the award winning Debian GNU/Linux operating system and designed from the ground up to be used by people who are looking for a free and easy-to-use solution for deploying dedicated e107 servers.

e107 is an open source Content Management System (CMS) that provides an advanced content publishing solution for documents, web pages, links and menus. The appliance comes with all of the upstream e107 configurations, which are installed by default in /var/www/e107.

Key features include the phpMyAdmin administration front-end for easy management of MySQL databases, out-of-the-box support for secure connections using the latest SSL implementation, a Postfix mail server for sending emails to users, and Webmin modules for configuring PHP, Postfix, PHP and Apache.

it is available for download as two Live CD ISO images, which have been designed to provide users with a demo mode for testing the appliance without installing anything on their computers, as well as to directly install the operating system on a server machine, supporting both 32- and 64-bit architectures.

In addition to the Live CDs, the TurnKey developers also provide users with virtual machine images for the OpenStack, Xen, OpenNode, OpenVZ and OVF virtualization technologies, supporting only the 64-bit (amd64) instruction set architecture.

While the default username for the phpMyAdmin, SSH, MySQL and Webmin components is root, the default username for e107 is admin. New passwords can be immediately after installation, during the first boot configuration process.

The installation process is painless, takes only a few minutes, and requires users to choose a disk partitioning scheme and where to install the boot loader. At the end of the installation, you can access the TurnKey Linux Configuration Console, which lets you to configure the network interfaces, as well as to reboot or shutdown the server.

What's new in TurnKey e107 Live CD 15.1:

  • Updated e107 to 2.1.9.
  • Rebuild to resolve inadvertent removal of mariadb during sec-updates
