Tendenci is an open source Content Management System (CMS) specifically designed for NPOs (Non Profit Organizations). This appliance includes all of the upstream Tendenci configurations, which are installed by default in /var/www/tendenci.
It is configured to be compatible with the Nginx web server, Gunicorn WSGI HTTP server, Supervisor process control system, PostgreSQL database server, as well as Whoosh full-text indexing and searching system.
In addition to the above, this TurnKey appliance comes with a Postfix MTA (Mail Transfer Agent) for sending email messages, and supports secure connections through the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) specification.
While the default username for the SSH server and Webmin administration front-end is root, the default username for the PostgreSQL database server is postgres, and the default Tendenci username is admin. Users will be able to set up passwords for these account after installation, during the first boot configuration process. In addition, you must enter a valid email address for the Tendenci 'admin' account.
The project is distributed as Live CD ISO images, which can be used in demo mode to try the appliance without installing anything on your computer or to install the entire system on a local disk drive using USB thumb drives or CD discs. Virtual images for OVF, OpenVZ, OpenNode, Xen and OpenStack are available from the project's homepage.
The TurnKey Migration, Backup, Dynamic DNS and Domain Management services can also be enabled during the first boot setup process. Don't forget to write down the IP addresses and ports for accessing the Tendenci web interface, the web shell, the Webmin administration front-end, and the SSH/SFTP accounts.
