TurnKey Revision Control Live CD is an open source appliance based on the award winning and highly acclaimed Debian GNU/Linux operating system. It designed from the ground up to be used for deploying dedicated servers with the Revision Control application.

Revision Control is an open source integrated revision control server software that combines some of the features from popular revision control apps like Git, Subversion, Mercurial and Bazaar. The appliance includes exemplary "Hello World" repositories, and a gitweb theme inspired by GitHub.
Key features include support for secure connections via the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) specification, the TurnKey web control panel, as well as Webmin modules for configuring the Apache web server. The default username for the Webmin, SSH and Webshell components is root.

During the first boot configuration process, users can set a password for the root (system administrator) account, as well as to enable the TurnKey Migration, Domain Management, Backup and Dynamic DNS services.

You can download the appliance from the dedicated section (see above) as Live CD ISO images for both 64-bit (amd64) and 32-bit (i386) instruction set architectures, as well as virtual images in the OpenNode, OpenStack, OpenVZ, OVF and Xen formats from the project's website.

The ISO images can be deployed to either USB flash drives or CD discs, and used for installing the operating system on a local disk drive. Optionally, users can just try the appliance, without installing anything on their computers, using the demo mode option provided on the boot prompt.

The installation process is painless and takes only a few minutes, requiring users to only partition the disk drive and set up the boot loader. At the end of the installation process, you'll be able to view the active services, so make sure you write down their IP addresses and ports.
