TurnKey OTRS Live CD is an open source project that provides users with an easy-to-use appliance for deploying dedicated OTRS servers with minimum effort. The appliance is based on the award winning, stable and reliable Debian GNU/Linux operating system.

OTRS is an open source ticket request system or trouble ticket system that allows companies to help their customers via emails and telephone calls. This TurnKey appliance come with tweaked OTRS configurations, which include documentation and spell checking.

Among other interesting features, we can mention support for secure connections through SSL, a Postfix mail server for sending email messages to users, as well as various Webmin modules for configuring Apache, Postfix, Procmail and MySQL.

For your convenience, the distribution comes with the TurnKey web control panel, from where you can easily manage customers and administer the OTRS installation, as well as to access the Web Shell and Webmin components.

It is available for download as Live CD ISO images, which can be written to CD discs or USB flash drives, as well as virtual machines in the OVF, Xen, OpenNode, OpenStack and OpenVZ virtualization formats. Both 64- and 32-bit architectures are supported at this time.
The installation process is text-based, but it will require users to only format the disk drive and set up the boot loader. The default username for Webmin, SSH, Webshell and MySQL is root, and the default OTRS username is admin.

After installation, the first boot configuration wizard will kick in, allowing users to set passwords for the root (system administrator), the MySQL 'root' account, as well as the OTRS 'admin' account. Optionally, you can initialize the TurnKey Domain Management and Dynamic DNS or TurnKey Backup and Migration services.

At the end of the first boot setup process, users can view the IP addresses and ports of the active services of this appliance. Don't forget to write them down on a piece of paper!
