TurnKey Gallery Live CD is an open source Debian-based operating system that is built around the well known Gallery software. It is designed from the ground up to allow anyone to deploy dedicated Gallery servers without much hassle and in a short time as possible.

Gallery is an open source web-based application that enables users to organize and publish digital photographs and other media. The appliance includes all of the upstream Gallery configurations, which are installed in /var/www/gallery and configured to use webroot and database.

Key features include support for URL rewriting, FFmpeg for video support, out-of-the-box support for secure connections using the latest SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) specification, the phpMyAdmin administrative front-end for easy management of MySQL databases.

The appliance includes a Postfix mail server that is bound to localhost and used for sending email messsages to user, such as password recovery, as well as several Webmin modules for configuring PHP, Apache, MySQL and Postfix.

The default username for Webmin, SSH, MySQL and Webshell is root, and the default Gallery username is admin, with password turnkey. For security reasons, all secrets are automatically regenerated during the installation and/or first boot processes.

This TurnKey edition is available for download as two Live CD ISO images, one for each of the supported hardware platforms (64-bit and 32-bit), as well as virtual machine images for the OpenStack, Xen, OVF, OpenNode and OpenVZ virtualization technologies, supporting only the 64-bit (amd64) architecture.

The ISOs can be deployed to USB flash drives or CD discs and used for testing or installing the appliance. The entire installation process takes only a few minutes and requires users to choose a partitioning task and where to deploy the boot loader.

The active services and their IP addresses/ports will be displayed at the end of the first boot configuration process, which allows you to set up new passwords for the aforementioned accounts, so don't forget to note them somewhere for future reference.
