SymplyOS Business Edition
SymplyOS Business Edition is an open source distribution of Linux based on the widely used openSUSE operating system and designed specifically for small and medium sized businesses. It uses KDE Plasma as its default and only graphical desktop environment.
Available for download as a 32-bit Live CD
The Business edition of the openSUSE-based SymplyOS operating system is available for download from its official website or via Softpedia as a Live CD ISO image that is tagged for the i686 architecture, which means that it will run well on both 32-bit (i686) and 64-bit (x86_64) hardware platforms, but will only support 32-bit applications.
Default boot options include the ability to start the live environment with default drivers or in safe graphics mode (failsafe), boot an existing operating system from the first disk drive, as well as to perform a system memory diagnostic test.
Professional looking desktop environment powered by KDE Plasma
Before you can use the graphical desktop environment, it is a must to accept the license agreement. To accept it, the user must scroll at the end of the license with the Enter or Space keys, press the Q key and then the Y key.
As mentioned, the desktop environment is powered by the modern KDE Plasma project, which uses a single-panel layout, designed to allow the user to easily and quickly launch applications or interact with running programs.
Default applications include the Marble world atlas, Amarok audio player, Mozilla Firefox web browser, digiKam image viewer and organizer, showFoto image editor, as well as the LibreOffice office suite.
Summing up, the Business edition of SymplyOS has been designed from the ground up to provide small and medium sized businesses with a professional looking and easy to use operating system powered by the KDE and openSUSE technologies.
