PC/OS (OpenServer) For Linux

PC/OS (OpenServer) is a special edition of the PC/OS Linux operating system that can transform any computer into a reliable and stable server system. It is derived from the world’s most popular distribution of Linux, Ubuntu.

The OpenServer edition of PC/OS can be downloaded from Softpedia as a Live CD ISO image that supports 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x86_64) hardware platforms. You can burn the ISO image onto a CD disc or write it on a USB thumb drive of 1GB or higher capacity in order to boot it from the BIOS of a PC.

The Live CD boot menu is standard for an operating system based on Ubuntu. It includes the ability to start the live system in graphical or safe graphical mode, start the installation directly, check the bootable medium for defects (only if using a CD disc), perform a system memory diagnostic test, as well as to boot from the local drive.

Being designed from the ground to be used on server machines, the operating system will drop users to a shell prompt. To start the graphical interface, execute the “startx” command (without quotes).
