PC/OS For Linux

PC/OS is an open source distribution of Linux derived from Ubuntu, the world’s most popular free operating system, and designed from the ground up to be as user-friendly as possible, aimed at new Linux users.

PC/OS is distributed as a Live DVD ISO image that runs on computers supporting both 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x86_64) architectures. It is a hybrid ISO image that can be written to a DVD disc or a USB thumb drive of 2GB or higher capacity.

Default boot options include the ability to start the live system with the default kernel or in safe graphics mode, start the graphical installer directly, boot in textonly or debug modes, run a memory diagnostic test, as well as to boot from the local drive.

The graphical desktop environment of PC/OS is unique, built around GNOME Classic. It uses a single-panel layout and useful applets, such as a slick main menu, workspace switcher, as well as a messaging indicator.
