Mandriva Linux MUD LXDE Edition
Mandriva Linux MUD LXDE Edition is a free Linux kernel-based operating system distributed as part of the Mandriva project. It’s derived from the Mandriva Linux One distribution and built around the LXDE desktop environment.
It is available for download as a dual-arch Live CD
The LXDE edition of Mandriva Linux is available for download as a dual-arch Live CD ISO image that contains software packages optimized for both 32-bit and 64-bit instruction set architectures. It can be deployed to a CD disc or a USB flash drive of 1GB or higher capacity in order to create a bootable medium.
Minimal Live CD boot menu
The Live CD boot menu is quite minimal. It includes only the ability to start the live system and to boot an existing operating system that is currently installed on the local drive of your computer. In addition, you can change the language (default is English), select a different screen resolution or pass extra parameters to the kernel.
The graphical session uses a traditional layout
When booting the live system from the bootable medium, you will be dropped to a login screen where you must use the “live” username (without quotes) and no password to login. The graphical session is built around LXDE (Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment) and uses a traditional layout comprised of a bottom panel.
Contains LXDE, Xfce and GNOME-specific apps
The distro contains LXDE, Xfce and GNOME-specific apps, such as the Shutter screen capture utility, Leafpad text editor, GNOME Commander two-pane file manager, LXTerminal terminal emulator, GIMP image editor, Inkscape vector graphics editor, Xarchiver archive manager, Chromium web browser, Claws Mail email client, Pidgin multi-protocol instant messenger, gFTP file transfer client, AbiWord word processor, Gnumeric spreadsheet editor, Audacity audio editor, Exaile music player, VLC Media Player, Cheese webcam viewer and GnomeBaker CD/DVD burning software.
