About Mandriva
Mandriva Linux (formerly known as Mandrake Linux) was created in 1998 with the goal of making Linux easier to use for everyone. At that time, Linux was already well-known as a powerful and stable operating system.
With this innovative approach, Mandriva offers all the power and stability of Linux to both individuals and professional users in an easy-to-use and pleasant environment. Thousands of new users are discovering Linux each and every day and finding it a complete replacement for their previous operating system. Linux as a server or workstation has no reason to be jealous of any other more established operating systems.

What's New in This Release: [ read full changelog ]
· Based on Mandriva Linux 2010 Spring ONE-Gnome this LXDE edition is an installable live cd - of course you can put the ISO on a pen drive as well.
· Changes go beyond the normal version upgrade from 2010.0 to 2010.1 - there's a new background design, the seamonkey suite has been replaced by the fast chromium browser and claws-mail, some additional tools have been added (gkrellm and more). The faster LXDM replaces the former GDM which results in a visible speed-up of the desktop start.
· Due to the usage of LXDM there have to be some changes in the configuration procedure before and after the harddisk installation. To make it easy for non aeronautic scientists we inserted a step-by-step guide in German AND English, This pops up right after system start, just follow the steps and you'll be fine!
