Macpup Foxy is a variant of the Macpup Linux distribution that uses Enlightenment E17 as its default and only graphical desktop environment. Just like Macpup, it is derived from the minimal and lightweight Puppy Linux operating system.
It is available for download as a dual-arch Live CD
The Foxy edition of Macpup Linux is available for download as a dual-arch Live CD ISO image that runs perfectly on 32-bit computers with old or semi-old hardware components, as well as on modern 64-bit machines.
The live system can run in RAM
From the Live CD boot menu, the user can start the live system with normal configuration or by copying the entire contents of the ISO image to RAM (system memory). You can also press the F1 key to access a list of available boot options. Advanced Linux users will be able to easily modify each of the two boot entries.
Performing first time setup
Before you can access the graphical desktop, you must select a keyboard layout and a display server. Choose X.Org if you have a modern graphics card or VESA if you have an old video card. In addition, you will be able to choose a screen resolution as soon as the desktop environment was loaded.
Beautiful and attractive desktop environment powered by Enlightenment
The Enlightenment E17 window manager has been tweaked to look beautiful and attractive, comprised of a panel located on the bottom edge of the screen and a clock widget on the right corner of the screen. The panel includes the main menu, a desktop switcher, an application launcher and a system tray area.
Includes powerful and popular open-source applications
The distro includes powerful and popular open-source applications, such as the HomeBank personal finance manager, ROX-Filer file manager, AbiWord word processor, Geany IDE, Viewnior image viewer, mtPaint graphic editor, uGet download manager, gFTP file transfer program, Transmission torrent downloader and Mozilla Firefox web browser.
