LinuxGT is a complete GNU/Linux operating system that can be used as a workstation and server OS. It offers a complete line of packages for the desktop as well as the high capacity, heavy traffic server farm. You can surf the Web, send instant messages to friends, or write software with the desktop version. With the server version, you can build and deploy highly available LAMP or Java/Tomcat stack applications, support various network file systems, and interact with other operating systems seamlessly.
In 1999, LinuxGT was announced to the Linux Distribution List website: "LinuxGT, formerly OpenShare Linux, is a complete Linux distribution. It features a GUI installation program, and a text-mode one for those without VGA. It has a set of default installations, which will configure your machine up for use as a Graphics Workstation, Internet Server, Development Workstation, or roll-your-own."
