Linux Mint Fluxbox 9
Contains software packages optimized for 32-bit hardware platforms
The Fluxbox edition of Linux Mint is distributed as a Live CD ISO image that contains software packages optimized for 32-bit (i386) hardware platforms, despite the fact that it is bootable on 64-bit computers.
The live system starts automatically
The Live CD has been engineered to automatically start the live system in ten seconds from the moment the user boots the ISO image from the BIOS of a PC. Advanced boot options can be accessed by pressing any key during the 10--second timeout.
Default boot options include the ability to start the live system with default settings or in safe graphics mode, perform a memory test, check the disc for defects (only if using a CD media) or boot an existing OS from the local drive.
Fluxbox features an auto-updating and auto-generated menu
Besides Linux Mint goodness like mintInstall, mintWifi, mintUpdate, mintAssistant, mintUpload, mintBackup, mintConfig and mintDesktop, this special edition comes with the lightweight and minimal Fluxbox window manager, which features an auto-updating and auto-generated menu and a panel located on the bottom edge of the screen.
Comes pre-loaded with lightweight and useful applications
The OS comes pre-loaded with lightweight and useful applications, among which we can mention the Asunder Audio-CD ripper, VLC Media Player, Chestnut dialer, Transmission torrent downloader, Exaile audio player and Mozilla Firefox web browser.
In addition, the Mozilla Thunderbird email and news client, XChat IRC client, Pidgin multi-protocol instant messenger, GIMP image editor, Simple Scan image scanner, Leafpad text editor, Thunar file manager, AbiWord word processor, Gnumeric spreadsheet editor, Cheese webcam viewer, GNOME MPlayer video player and Xfburn CD/DVD burning software are also installed.
