Kuine Linux Sugar
Kuine Linux Sugar is a special, free and open-source single purpose operating system derived from Debian GNU/Linux and designed from the ground up to provide users with a fully operational Sugar CRM Community Edition appliance.
It contains Apache and MySQL as backends
The Sugar edition of Kuine Linux contains Apache and MySQL as backends. It is the perfect solution for emulating an appliance, as well as to instantiate a virtual machine to meet a very specific need, in this case a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) server,
The OS is distributed as Live CD images
The user can download Kuine Linux Sugar via Softpedia or directly from its official website (see download link above) as Live CD ISO image of approximately 200MB in size each, optimized for both the 32-bit and 64-bit instruction set architectures.
Minimum requirements for running the Live CD
The ISO images can be burned onto blank CD discs or written on USB thumb drives in order to boot them from the BIOS of a computer that has at least 256MB of RAM, a 1Ghz CPU (Intel or AMD) or better, a CD/DVD reader or USB port, and at least 2GB free disk space for the installation.
The text-mode administration console is very useful
After booting the live system, the user will be prompted by the text-mode administration console, which will display the URL for the Sugar CRM appliance and the IP address and port of the web-based administration interface. Both of them can be access using the admin/admin username and password combination.
Additionally, it will provide users with various useful options, such as the ability to set the server hostname, configure the network interfaces and email alerts, change the admin password, enable persistence mode or HD-USB installation, check the status of the server and running services, as well as to restart or shutdown the machine.
