JessBuntu is a free and open-source distribution of Linux derived from the well-known Zorin OS operating system, which in turn is based on the world’s most popular free OS, Ubuntu. It is built around the beautiful and modern Cinnamon desktop environment.
Available only for mainstream architectures
The operating system is available for download as a dual-arch Live DVD ISO image that supports both 32-bit and 64-bit instruction set architectures. It has approximately 2.5GB in size and needs to be written on a USB thumb drive of 4GB or higher capacity, or burned onto a DVD disc.
The boot options are standard
Being based on Ubuntu, the distribution features standard boot options, such as the ability to start the live environment with default options or in safe graphics mode, start the installer directly, run a memory test or boot an existing OS from the local drive.
Features a beautiful Cinnamon setup
This Zorin OS/Ubuntu-based operating system replaces the traditional, old-school GNOME Classic desktop environment with the beautiful and modern Cinnamon, a fork of the GNOME Shell interface. It features a beautiful setup comprised of a top taskbar and a bottom dock.
Includes popular open source applications
JessBuntu includes popular open source applications, such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Coverseen, Skype, BleachBit, ScreenCloud, Synaptic Package Manger, Wallch, ClipGrab, Qbittorrent, Geary and Clementine.
In addition, the K3b, OpenShot, SuperBoot, GNOME Tweak, StormCloud, Ubuntu Tweak, Wine, PlayOnLinux, GDeb Installer, Cheese and HandBrake are also included.
Summing up, JessBuntu is a really attractive operating system that has been designed from the ground up to be installed on a mid-range or high-end computer as the default OS. It is a desktop-oriented distribution of Linux that uses a modern and productive graphical interface on top of a rock-solid Ubuntu/Zorin OS base.
