IprediaOS Live LXDE1
IprediaOS Live LXDE is an open-source and completely free distribution of Linux derived from the well known Fedora Linux operating system and designed from the ground up to protect your anonymity online while you surf the Internet.
The OS supports only 32-bit applications
Unfortunately for some of you, the OS supports only 32-bit applications, despite the fact that it will boot on both 32-bit (i686) and 64-bit (x86_64) hardware platforms.
It’s available for download as six Live CD ISO images, supporting the English, Russian, German, French, Swedish and Spanish languages. Please note, that you must write any of these ISO images to CD discs or USB thumb drives in order to use them.
Boot prompt à la Fedora Linux
Being a Fedora-based operating system, IprediaOS Live LXDE uses its standard boot prompt, which has been designed from the ground up to allow the user to start the live system in a shortest time as possible.
However, if you want to start the live environment in safe graphics mode, check the integrity of the bootable medium (only if using a CD media), run a memory test or boot from the local drive, do not hesitate to access the Troubleshooting entry.
The live session is very traditional, powered by LXDE
As mentioned, the main emphasis of this IprediaOS edition is on the LXDE (Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment) project, which provides users with a traditional graphical desktop environment. It features a single panel located on the bottom edge of the screen, designed to allow the user to easily navigate the main menu and launch apps, as well as to interact with them.
Includes the same amount of applications as the main edition
Default applications include the XChat IRC client, Leafpad text editor, Parcellite clipboard manager, Xarchiver archive manager, Xpad note-taking utility, Indic on-screen keyboard, GPicView image viewer, mtPaing image editor, AbiWord word processor, Gnumeric spreadsheet editor, Mozilla Firefox web browser, Sylpheed email client, Wireshark network scanner and the GXine media player.
Summing up, the LXDE flavor of IprediaOS is here purely as an alternative to the main edition of this anonymous and secure operating system based on Fedora Linux and the I2P anonymous P2P (Peer-to-Peer) distributed communication layer.
