Huayra GNU/Linux is an open source and free Linux operating system designed especially for the Conectar Igualdad program in Argentina. It is based on the Debian GNU/Linux distribution.
It is developed within Conectar Igualdad and based on the needs of students, teachers and the entire school community. It offers a safe, fast virtual environment.
Huayra is named after the Quechua word, which means wind: Wind of change, winds of freedom, winds of technological sovereignty. Besides being a free operating system, Huayra GNU/Linux has been designed and developed for use by the educational community in Argentina.
Huayra GNU/Linux is distributed as an installable DVD ISO image, supporting both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures.
