You can download the Hakin9 Live distribution as a Live CD ISO image of approximately 600MB in size, engineered to run on computers supporting the 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x86_64) instruction set architectures.
You can test the RAM or pass extra parameters from the boot prompt
From the Live CD boot menu, the user can perform two different system memory (RAM) diagnostic tests using the Memtest86+ 1.50 or Memtest86 3.2 utilities. Type the “test86p” command and press Enter to run a memory test with Memtest86+ 1.50 or type the “test86” command and press Enter to test the RAM for errors with Memtest86 3.2.
In addition, you can pass extra parameters to the kernel by pressing the F3 key or just press the Enter key on your keyboard to start the live system with the default kernel. Do not hesitate to press the F1 key for a list of boot options.
Comes pre-loaded with a plethora of security-oriented apps
The Hakin9 Live operating system comes pre-loaded with a plethora of security-oriented applications, such as AirSnort, EtherApe, Snort, Ettercap, FireStarter, Ethereal, Driftnet, Burp Proxy, BFBTester, ALD (Assembly Language Debugger), Bc, GnuPG, Hping, NASM, Gtk-IPTables and John the Ripper.
In addition, the iproute2, iptables, iptraf, ipw2100-firmware, jwhois, FakeConnect, DataWorkshop, coreography, dSniff, ht, Kismet, libnet, Logwatch, mtr, Netcat, NDISwrapper, Nessus, GDB (The GNU Project Debugger), Parted, Nmap, OpenSSL, OpenSSH, VNC, tcpdump, traceroute, WvDial, rp-pppoe, p0f, nload, Sam, Sniffit, snortconf, snortkonsole, stunnel, sendip, rdesktop and The Sleuth Kit tools are also included.
