It can be installed on 32-bit or 64-bit computersThe Elemental Linux Server operating system can be easily installed on any computer that supports the 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x86_64) instruction set architectures using an ISO image that fits perfectly on a CD disc. An additional ISO image with extra software packages is available for download too.
Minimal boot menu powered by GRUBFrom the minimal boot menu of the BASE ISO image, which is used to install the operating system, the user can boot an existing OS from the local drive or start the installation process. Please read the official documentation to learn how to install the operating system on your computer. Basically, you must login as root and execute the “setup” command to start the text-based installer, which will automatically partition the target drive and install the packages from the ISO image.
It features no package manager, nor graphical environmentBeing designed to be as minimal as possible, the Elemental Linux Server distro features no package manager, nor graphical environment. Everything inside Elemental Linux Server is console-based and the user must install packages from .tar.gz files. In addition, all configuration is done manually by editing files in the /etc directory.
