Dax OS Kids For Linux

Dax OS Kids is an open source distribution of Linux based on the world's most popular free operating system, Ubuntu, and built around a highly customized version of the lightweight, modern and attractive Enlightenment desktop environment/window manager.

The Kids edition of Dax OS is available for download as a dual-arch Live DVD ISO image that can be used on either 32-bit (i386) or 64-bit (x86_64) computers. Please note that the user must first write the ISO image to either a USB flash drive or a DVD disc.

When booting the ISO image from the BIOS of a PC, using either a DVD or USB media, you will encounter a boot menu that allows you to start the live environment with default boot options or in safe graphics mode, start the graphical installer directly, perform a system memory diagnostic test, as well as to boot an existing operating system from the first disk.

All the Dax OS editions are built around the Enlightenment desktop environment, and the Kids edition features a really beautiful version designed only for them. It features no panels and the main menu can be accessed by left clicking anywhere on the desktop.

As expected, the distribution includes a wide range of educational applications, among which we can mention Tux Typing, Tux Paint, Tux Math, KTouch, KTurtle, KGeography, Kanagram, GeoGebra, Blinken, Celestia, Childsplay and KWordQuiz.
