GridTrust's objective is to develop the technology to manage trust and security for the Next Generation Grids from the requirement level down to the application, middleware and foundation levels.
Trust and security remain the two main obstacles preventing the widespread adoption of grid technologies across diverse organizations including research and educational institutions, industries and governments.
The GridTrust consortium aims to develop a GridTrust framework through research in requirements engineering, grid technology, and security, and to provide important test cases to validate the GridTrust framework. Innovative test applications of this technology include "inter-enterprise knowledge management" and "distributed authoring".
