    rdiffWeb description

rdiffWeb is designed to operate with two different backends: configuration file and MySQL.

rdiffWeb is designed to operate with two different backends: MySQL and configuration file.

Restoring folders is supported, as is restoring older revisions of files. An RSS feed is available for backup status.

    File backend

The simplest mode uses a configuration file-based backend. This mode only allows for a single user login and requires repositories to be added manually, but does not require the MySQLdb package or an operational MySQL installation.

    MySQL backend

The MySQL backend is slightly more complicated to set up, but allows many users, and offers automatic repository spidering. This configuration is recommended.

    Multiple users (MySQL backend only)

When configured to use MySQL, rdiffWeb supports multiple users. Each user has a "root" directory. All rdiff-backup repositories the user sees will be shown relative to this directory. For example if user A is assigned a root directory of /var/backup/foo and a repository is located at /var/backup/foo/nightly, it will show up to user A as /nightly.

    Administration (MySQL backend only)

All user administration is done from the admin page, which can be accessed by administrators via the Admin link in the top left corner of each page. Administrators can add, delete, and edit users, as well as crawl the users' directories for rdiff-backup repositories.

    What's New in This Release:

    · This release returns the ability to find repositories from the commandline.
    · Python 2.4 support was fixed.
