A BAckup Daemon for Linux. #Backup directory #System backup #Watch folder #Backup #Watch #Directory
BAD (BAckup Daemon) is an open source command-line utility specially designed to run in the background and watch a specific directory and copy the folders and files from it to a designated location.
BAD generates hashes automatically and stores them in a local file for easy and quick integrity checking. It is also capable of logging everything is doing, mostly.
System requirements
- Linux kernel version 2.6.13 or later
What's new in BAD 0.0.2:
- This version is mainly a lot of bugfixes and major code restructuring.
- One new feature is the pid file that will disallow two bad processes from runing at once to prevent duplicate logging output and too much resource usage.
- Logging levels can be set as command line arguments to obtain the desired logging output.
- A self uninstaller has been added that will delete ~/.bad, the binary, and the manual page.
