pwgrep is an open source command-line software that acts as a simple password manager, using GnuPG encryption.

pwgrep uses version control for all stored passwords, automatic synchronization multi-user and multiple hosting support of the database, as well as the ability to store certificates.

What's New in This Release:
  • This version adds a SNAPSHOTDIR config option to use a custom directory for database snapshots (e.g. every time a database is going to be manipulated, the previous version is stored to ~/.pwgrep.snapshots/).
  • This helps one find old passwords in the case of any RCS merge conflicts in the central repository.
