Zekr is an open source, free, feature-rich and multiplatform software project designed from the offset to act as a study, recitation and translation application for studying the Holy Quran. It is oriented towards Muslims, allowing them to easily access the most valuable and authentic text.

Features at a glance

Key features include advanced Qur'an search and Qur'an root, support for both online and offline Qur'an multi-recitation, bookmark management, allowing the user to import and export bookmarks, as well as to manage multiple bookmarks, support for comparative translations, support for themes, and the ability to search within translations.

It also features an easy-to-use, simple and straightforward graphical user interface that gives you instant access to all of its functions.

Under the hood, availability and supported OSes

The software is written in the Java and JavaScript programming languages and uses the Java SWT technology for its graphical user interface, which means that it’s a cross-platform application that supports GNU/Linux, BSD, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. It is available for download primarily as pre-built binary packages, supporting both 32-bit and 64-bit computers.
