PKtool stands for Power Kernel tool and is a SystemC/C++ environment dedicated to the estimation of power dissipation for digital systems described in SystemC. PKtool can be applied to each single SystemC module constituting the system under examination, and it estimates the energy consumption of each monitored module during the functional SystemC simulation.
PKtool is based on three main components, from which derive its capabilities for energetic analysis: simulation engine (also called Power Kernel), power models and augmented signals.
